Fostering Application Form

  IMPORTANT NOTE:

Our horses and ponies are very precious to us. They have already been rescued from unacceptable situations and, understandably, we do not take the re-homing process lightly.

It is imperative that the fostering process has our full and undivided attention. We will therefore not deal with fostering applications to casual callers at the Sanctuary.

All applications must be received on our standard Fostering Application Form and all applicants are required to complete all the stages of our fostering criteria before we will consider any of our horses/ponies being placed. These stages are set out on our Fostering Page on this website.

  AMBER  -  Bay New Forest X Mare—14.1hh - DOB: June 2001

I was rescued by another equine welfare group who had to close down because they had run out of money. They asked EHPPS to take me on. I am a rideable pony and love hacking, shows and jumping. I have been in a lovely home for the past three years, but I have developed a severe wheat and rapeseed allergy. As I was living on a farm surrounded by rapeseed, the family had no choice but to return me to the Sanctuary. I am looking for a special family who would offer me a home and take me to competitions and have lots of fun with me.
Lots of Love, Amber x-x-x

CHESTER  -  Chestnut Welsh X Gelding - 13hh  -  DOB: 29 April 2000

A lady bought my mum and took her to an all mares yard. She didn’t know it at the time, but mum was expecting me! It was a complete shock when I arrived. I came to EHPPS when I was a year old as my owner couldn’t keep me with all the mares. I went to a long term foster home where there were other EHPPS horses and ponies, and the family broke me to ride. I have done lots of Pony Club and even the Prince Phillip Cup. Sadly, I am now too small for the children to ride me so I am looking for a Pony Club type home where I can still compete. I am a safe ride, but do not particularly like novicey riders. Could I be that special pony for your special home?
Lots of Love, Chester x-x-x

CoCo  -  Grey Shetland Gelding - 8.2hh - DOB: 1994

My cruel owner left me and my son, Peanut, to live together in a filthy, dark, dirty stable for nearly three years. We were never allowed to be turned out to graze or play. She didn’t feed or water us regularly either, which is why we came to EHPPS. Peanut is now in a lovely foster home. I would like the chance too of becoming part of a family—perhaps as a companion pony or I could even be broken to drive as I’m quite a bold fellow.
Lots of Love, CoCo x-x-x

ELIJAH - Bay Native Pony—12.1hh - DOB: 2007

My owner was very cruel to me and the RSPCA took him to Court. They won the case and asked EHPPS to give me a home. I am very laid back and easy going and not easily flustered. The Aunties say I would make an excellent Pony Club pony.  I am being backed and basically schooled, but will need a loving and experienced home where my riding career can be brought on. Would you like me to be your pony?
Lots of Love, Elijah x-x-x

HOCUS  -  Grey Welsh Section A Mare—11.2hh - DOB: 2005

I was left abandoned in a field one blazingly hot summer with my friends, Wesley, Pumpkin and Wizard. We had no water or grazing at all which is why we all came to the Sanctuary. I am looking for a new foster home—possibly as a companion or a second pony. They tell me here that I am extremely pretty and would make a good show pony too!
Lots of Love, Hocus x-x-x

LEGACY  -  Bay Warmblood Mare—14.3hh - DOB: 1996

I was taken in by EHPPS following a serious leg injury that needed surgery. Once I was sound, I went to a foster home where I worked very hard—even doing X-Country and some dressage. Over the years the family outgrew me and went on to serious competition work, so I was returned to the Sanctuary. I am looking for a home where I can be regularly hacked out and perhaps some more dressage.. I am not able to jump anymore these days, but I still love my work.
Lots of Love, Legacy x-x-x

MARLEY   -  Bay Irish Sports Horse—16.2hh - DOB: 2000

My owner went away a lot on business and left me in a field on my own without any company. As I have arthritis in my legs, I became very lame. He agreed to let EHPPS take me on and I have been on medication for my condition. I feel so much better now and can move around freely and without pain, but I am not allowed to be ridden. I would make a great companion horse as I am very loving and friendly.
Lots of Love, Marley x-x-x

SAFFRON  - Strawberry Roan Welsh Section B Mare—12.3hh  -  DOB: 1998

I came to the Sanctuary from the RSPCA many years ago. In the right hands, I could be a lead rein pony or a show pony. I can be a little nervous of people at first, but once I get to know them I am very friendly. I don’t really need to live at the Sanctuary as there is nothing wrong with me, and I would love the chance of being someone’s pony. Do you think I could be the pony for you?
Lots of Love, Saffy x-x-x

TROY  -  Black Cob Gelding—14.1hh —DOB: 1988

I have been with EHPPS for many years and spent a lot of time on foster as a rideable pony. I am retired now so offers of foster homes are not so frequent for me. However, I get on well with all horses and ponies so I would be an excellent companion pony. As I suffer from COPD I am better living out with a field shelter than being stabled inside. Would you let me join your family? I promise I’ll be a good boy!
Lots of Love, Troy x-x-x

VULKAN  -  Black Thoroughbred Gelding—16.3hh —DOB: 1996

My owner abandoned me in a field next door to a livery yard. I was slowly starving to death and then one of the liveries noticed that I was getting very thin. EHPPS came along and brought me back to the Sanctuary where I got lots of nice food and care. Although I can’t be ridden due to a disc problem, I am a good companion horse. I am so gentle that the Aunties trusted me to care for orphaned foal, Ben, when he was tiny. Would you give me the chance of becoming part of your family?
Lots of Love, Vulkan x-x-x

ZEUS   -  Dark Bay Cob Gelding—14.2hh—DOB: 1993

I came to EHPPS with my friend Rajah, because we were always getting out of our field onto the roads. Our owner didn’t mend the fences in our field so that we were safe and one day we ended up on the busy A127. After that, we came to live at EHPPS. As I am fit and healthy, there is no need for me to live at the Sanctuary so I would love to go to a foster family where I could be loved and cared for.
Lots of Love, Zeus x-x-x

AWAITING PHOTOGRAPH
BOBBY - Chestnut Trotter Gelding - 15hh - DOB:  June 2007

I have been successfully backed, but I am looking for a lovely, kind, experienced home where I can be slowly schooled on.  I adore being fussed and cuddled - they call me a real old time waster!
Lots of Love, Bobby x-x-x

MATINEE - Chestnut Welsh X - 14.1hh - DOB: 2007

Like Bobby, I have been successfully backed, and would love to become part of a family who could bring my education on.  They say I have lots of potential.
Lots of Love, Matinee x-x-x

POLLY - Black Cob Mare - 14.1hh - DOB: 2004

I had never been regularly handled before I came to the Sanctuary earlier this year so I was quite wary of people at first.  The team have been gradually winning my trust over the months,  but they feel that a one-to-one would be much better for me.  I am fit and healthy (and friendly once I get to know you!)  Could you give me a home where I can be eventually be ridden?  I would really love to be part of a family.
Lots of Love, Polly x-x-x

BETTY - Chestnut Cob Mare - 14.2hh - DOB: 2004

The Aunties tell me that I am what they call a "safe ride".  I am looking for a nice family who would foster me, love me and ride me regularly.  We could have so much fun together.
Lots of Love, Betty x-x-x
