** WELFARE SCOUTS REQUIRED ** We received many welfare calls at the Sanctuary. A large percentage of the calls require no action by us at all. However, we waste a huge amount of precious time and funds driving around the County to investigate some complaints which have no foundation to them - an example being “a horse is lying down and has been down for ages and I’m concerned”. We arrive at the scene and find a healthy foal sparko to the world with mum standing over keeping a watchful eye. It goes without saying that we must check every call we received just in case there is something wrong and needs action taken or further investigation. We are therefore looking to put together a team of WELFARE SCOUTS across the County who can be called upon from time to time to check the concern reported to us and let us know if it requires action by us. The post is a voluntary one and applicants must be aged 18 years of over and have a good, sound equine knowledge. If
